But not before one final look back into the hearts and minds of those who’ve been here for what feels like ages. For now, we’re saying a teary-eyed goodbye to another beautiful club run. But very soon, you’ll hear the final ring before the festival begins.

What's the perfect club for you?

Jean: “Club Mate.”
Ana: “Haha yes! To me, the perfect club is a club where all my friends from all around the world are in the same space, dancing and loving each other.”
Favourite club moment?

Joanna Boy: “Spending time with a good programmation and great energy.”
Best thing you’ve seen?

Robin: “The consecutive DJ sets of Palatine and Elisethere followed by Aba Shanti-I!”
Palatine: “Aba Shanti-I, he’s a legend, he’s a myth, and to see him here play in this context is new and it’s very nice. It was super mesmerizing also because of his lyrical guidance, it’s really magical.”
Favourite club moment?

Walid: “I really enjoyed New Year’s Eve. There was a group of dancers and I just joined in on the spur of the moment and found myself dancing away with them. I thought that was a really lovely moment and a core memory.”
What does the ideal club look like?

Gabriel & Robin:
“For me the best club is the one that has a lot of space to dance and the one that plays really slow techno so we have time to really feel each move. And the fire pit here is also just the cherry on top of the cake.”
Current energy in three words?

Mihalis & friends:
“Warm, overwhelmed, and love.”
Most memorable moment?

Fabia: “My favorite moment was in the garage and there was this post-punk set. Everyone was really really getting down to it and just like dancing in a different way that wasn’t like electronic music. It was like proper old-school post-punk goth club shit and it was so good.”
Alexander: “This really became one of my monthly highlights that I really looked forward to. I went less to other parties just because I wanted to be super fresh for the weekends. Sometimes I did a full 24 hours, sometimes on Sunday. It really feels like a family gathering.”
Favourite club corner?

Sara: “No doubt, the dance floor. It is a space where you can make mistakes, you can fall a bit, you can go out of rhythm, and it’s okay. I think we need to remember this more. The dance floor is for sure something that reminds me all the time.”
Who are you dancing with?

Siebe: “We got up this morning, quite early. The sun was shining. And now we’re just dancing with the girls, actually.”
Gabriel: “Coming with the girls, and then bumping into even more girls here. That’s the key. We came as a pair. And now we’re standing here with… 700? A million! Lol”
Current energy?

Djahid: “To me, coming to Horst really feels like letting loose, being comfortable with myself, dancing and not worrying about what other people think, what other people are doing, just focusing on the music and on the energy, the beautiful scenery and mostly having fun.”
Favourite moment?

Jino & Raphael: “My favourite moment was when I performed here actually for Gay Haze, also for Temporary Pleasure. I always loved the place and performing for them was like an extra sparkle. That is still at this point I think one of the highlights of my life.”
What’s it like working here?

Neeka: “Everyone’s really friendly and welcoming. I always feel really at ease here.”
Most memorable moment?

Pieterjan, Nivaldo & Michael: “I remember once, I went outside because I was too hot of the dancing and I just sat around the fire pit and I was just sitting next to a couple that was breaking up and I heard every little detail of why and how they broke up. I listened to them there for I think half an hour just to hear all the juice and then went back inside. And then I looked at both of them still trying to make the evening a cool event and having a good time but it was not working because you felt it was over. I had such a great time that evening.”

“What’s so amazing about dance floors is bringing together all of these people that are different, but you have this one shared interest, which is that you want to be in this moment in time together.”

“When I go party, one thing that bothers me is that performance is often seen as something just to spice up the night. I always imagine what if performance is an integral part of the party.”

"Clubbing has undergone enormous commercialisation and standardisation. It’s important to stage these works in a way that rethinks or reactivates clubbing as an important cultural experience."

“It’s really nice if a club night can be different things. It can be dancing, it can be talking, it can be resistance, getting out of your comfort zone. It’s almost like a Gesamtkunstwerk”.

“The idea was to find a language throughout space or some kind of movement that can give the club a feeling of passing of time. It’s not as static as a place."

"I think one of the first things we decided to do is to come dancing here and to feel what's going on, what works very well, what could be better, what have we learned from it, but how can it also be different?"

"Party spaces can be overwhelming. I’ve often experienced being at a club and sitting on the cold concrete floor with everyone else."

"The perfect club is when you have the best people inside, a diverse dance floor where people feel represented.”

“Care is the most important expression of community: making sure everyone feels comfortable, trusted and supported among like-minded people.”
