Axel Boman’s origin story reaches back to age 13 and the DJ course he completed at Fryshuset Academy in Stockholm. But it was the release of his first EP, ‘Purple Drank’, on DJ Koze’s Pampa Records in 2010 that truly set his career in motion. That same year, he set up a studio with compatriots Petter Nordqvist and Kornél Kovács, and Studio Barnhus has since become arguably the most important label for independent dance music in Scandinavia. Axel is also an inveterate collaborator, notably producing and touring with John Talabot as Talaboman, so he makes a natural pairing with another well-known team player, Robag Wruhme. From 1997 to 2009, Robag was one half of the infamous Wighnomy Brothers, helping to define the golden era of playful and pristine German minimal house, and he’s pursued a productive, multifaceted solo career ever since, including two LPs on Pampa.
