Antwerp-based DJ and visual artist Ako is a head-to-toe vinyl maniac. Her experimental approach to techno is a mosaic of old-school gems from the 90s and deep dives into diverse styles from trance to breakbeat, dubstep and house. Through a patchwork of all different textures, progressive melodies, echoes of Detroit, funky twists, hardgroove patterns, cold raw bangers and full-on 909 power, she conjures a hands-on ride full of surprises and charged energy. Last year this approach brought her to the storied Tresor/Globus, where she debuted for hot Berlin party Scheißmukke.
