Quietly responsible for some of this century’s most arresting and influential dance music, Dave Huismans has paradoxically managed to develop a signature sound while still breaking new ground with every release. While rooted in the house and techno he grew up with in Holland throughout the 90s, his music reveals an off-kilter, sometimes wildly idiosyncratic approach to composition, from his pioneering techno-dubstep crossover work as 2562 to the extensive material released under the more 4/4-minded A Made Up Sound moniker, and his recent resurfacing with the aliases In Transit and ex_libris. Besides his accomplishments as a producer, Dave is an incredibly versatile and skilled DJ, drawing on over 30 years of passionate music digging to join the dots between eras, geographics and styles, as his recent free-wheeling podcast for RA attests.
