Picture it: an apartment in Brussels, empty bottles on the table, smoke in the air, and two daddies playing UK rave and breakbeat records on 33 instead of 45rpm. This is Front de Cadeaux, the project of Maurizio and Ugo, who met via a bear dating site after Maurizio spotted a Felix Kubin poster in one of Ugo’s pics. Taking their name from the Italian pronunciation of Front 242 (the Belgian EBM legends), their project posits that dance culture urgently needs a revolution. That means that at 3am in the club they can be found playing at a swampy 90bpm, making promoters shit themselves and helping willing dancefloor bodies find transcendence. Join Front de Cadeaux at Horst Festival for the world premiere of their hybrid live performance, and get into the (slow!) groove.
