Jump Source, the Montreal-based duo composed of Priori and Patrick Holland, venture through various strains of dance music in the studio, focusing on intuitive, long-form recordings full of quirks. Though their independent work differs, the through-line of influence can be heard across the Jump Source catalogue, and through their choice of records in the club. Since their first self-titled release in 2019, the two have put out six EPs of club music with an angle, deeply informed by, and actively updating, the codes of dance music evolution. Last year’s ‘JS06’, featuring collaborations with Sabola, Martyn Bootyspoon and Frankie Teardrop, was named one of the best EPs of the year by Resident Advisor, The Quietus and First Floor. Now Jump Source bring their studio to life in a first-time performance at Horst Festival.
