Karen Nyame KG has been an innovative force in dance music for nearly a decade. Drawing on her own Ghanaian heritage for inspiration, KG’s sound is firmly rooted in the African diaspora, with the essence of “back home” felt strongly throughout her work. Lyrically she also explores themes of women’s empowerment, love, sexuality and desire, high vibrations, partying and more. Her productions showcase the dynamism and hybridity of London club music’s ever evolving sound: African polyrhythms, low-end sub-bass and energetic drum patterns. She has released on Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce label and put out a standout collab single with UNIIQU3 ‘B2B/Black Roses’, as well as the summer-soaked ‘Sensei II’ on Black Acre Records, and 2022’s ‘Taboo’. In 2023, KG launched the imprint Rhythm In the City, named after her much-loved event series of the same name. We can't wait to welcome her to Horst Festival this year.
