German producer and DJ Marc Acardipane is an artist who, for over thirty years, has flown under many people’s radars. But this self-styled ‘Most Famous Unknown’ (the title of a compilation he put out in 2020) made a vital contribution to the development of the hardcore techno scene with the genre-founding track ‘We Have Arrived’, released under the Mescalinium United alias in 1991 and, infamously, remixed by Aphex Twin. Marc has remained relevant over the decades since, his tracks as Pilldriver, The Mover and many other aliases being picked up by everyone from Donato Dozzy to Nina Kraviz. We can’t wait to hear him represent the hardcore lineage at this year’s Horst Festival.
