Encountering the Polar Inertia collective is much like being absorbed by fog and captivated by its ever-shifting forms and densities, as indistinguishable as a whiteout. Formed in 2010, Polar Inertia delves into structures beyond the public gaze. Layers upon layers intertwine and expand on the performance, manifesting as a conceptual universe where sound, monochrome aesthetics and elusive narratives converge. Polar Inertia works with installations, print and video work, and texts created for different contexts, from Palais de Tokyo in Paris to the Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art. Their sound exists at the crossroads of ambient, experimental and deep techno, interwoven with vocal narratives. Since their inaugural release ‘Indirect Light’ on Dement3d Records in 2011, they have remained a stronghold of relevance and captivation in the electronic domain.
