Polygonia & Steffi

Polygonia & Steffi

 –

Polygonia represents a multidisciplinary music and art project conceived by Lindsey Wang from Munich, Germany. Her deep background in acoustic instruments and interest in cultural diversity fuel her artistic process, which she expresses through the medium of electronic music and digital art. Polygonia's sonic landscape exudes an organic, mystical quality, characterized by ingenious yet irresistible rhythms. Her musical palette flows between various shades of groovy, trippy Techno, Breakbeat, Bass Music and Grey Area, while also incorporating elements of House, Electro, Ambient and other genres. Nature serves as a key source of inspiration for many of her works.

Standout examples of her style include the ‘Otro Mundo’ EP (2023) on Bambounou’s Bambe label, the ‘Da Nao Tian Gong’ EP (2024) on Italy’s Midgar Records, and her album ‘Living Patterns’ (2022) on Kangding Ray’s ara imprint. Polygonia reveals different musical facets in her DJ and live sets, adapting to the time of day and the atmosphere. Her performances range from intense body music and emotional interludes to powerful, bass-heavy moments, creating dynamic narratives. In 2018, she co-founded the collective and label IO with fellow artists Dycide and MTRL. In 2021, Polygonia formed the band project Lyder with Niklas Bühler and Moritz Stahl, fusing jazz and electronic sounds. She then established her own label, QEONE, in July 2022, and began collaborating with jazz drummer Simon Popp in 2023.

Steffi does not do things by halves, and this unwavering commitment to growing and challenging herself as a producer, DJ and label head has kept her at the forefront of contemporary dance music since the mid 90s. Born in the Netherlands, a move to Berlin led to an enduring residency at the city’s emblematic Berghain, an experience that has translated effortlessly to the international clubs and festivals – big and small – at which she has long been a staple.

As a producer, Steffi has an extensive discography that takes in albums, singles and remixes – solo and in collaboration – released by respected labels including Ostgut Ton, 3024, Dark Entries, Ed Banger and Because Music. Steffi’s long-running labels Klakson and Dolly continue to release a distinct blend of electro, breaks, Chicago and Detroit house and techno to this day. In recent years, Steffi’s tireless search for new ground has been made tangible in a permanent move to Portugal where, with Virginia, she founded the label, studio space and creative hub Candy Mountain.
