As a co-founder of [a:rpia:r] alongside Raresh and Petre Inspirescu, Bucharest’s Rhadoo is a leading light of what has become known as ‘rominimal techno’. In his early years digging for music under dictatorial communism in Romania, at a time when it was difficult to find records or even outside information, seeking out music felt like a quest. And there is a corresponding sense of adventure to the long-form club excursions he has produced every few years over the past two decades. Indeed, since he first stepped up behind the decks in 1995, he’s built a career on consistency and dedication over hype or spectacle, elevated by his rigorous and irreducible vision. It gives us much pleasure to say that Rhadoo’s long-awaited Horst debut is finally here.
