Yu Su makes her much-awaited Horst debut this year, finally bringing her idiosyncratic, versatile take on dancefloor communion to Vilvoorde. Born in Kaifeng and now based in London, Yu Su is a musician, DJ, sound artist and occasional chef. Her records on imprints like Ninja Tune sublabel Technicolour, Music From Memory and bié Records have received much critical acclaim, including a nomination for Canada’s Polaris Prize. She has co-produced with John Carroll Kirby and Duval Timothy and is well-known for her remix work for the likes of Carmen Villain, Parquet Courts and King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard. She has also composed for feature films and fashion brands, and became Mixmag’s first ever Chinese cover star. As a DJ, she customarily leaves dancefloors utterly transfixed, and we expect nothing less at this year’s Horst.
