EXPO 2025
The Pervert is a newly devised performance created in rehearsals with an ensemble cast. It will feature layers of looping choreographed motifs – sonic and danced – purposely confounding and spasmodically synchronising with one another.
It will take the form of a non-linear narrative featuring a group of gold-painted nude dancers and a live narrator playing the character of “Eddie Peake”. This character will step in and out of the drama, switching between appearing to direct it, meddle with it, narrate it and passively observe it. The artist Eddie Peake will also appear in the work, DJing a live soundscape that will both respond to and orchestrate the work at large.

Spiralling choreographic patterns of dance and sound stand-in for abstract phenomena such as depression, psychosis, obsession and desire, and conceptually reflect the viewer’s gaze back upon itself.
The work will be an iterative performance insofar as it will tour to four other institutions around Europe, being adapted for each new venue, making it a unique work on every presentation.

Eddie Peake works with performance, video, photography, painting, sculpture, sound and installation. His art often takes the form of immersive exhibitions that connect diverse and incongruous objects, weaving autobiographical elements and an examination of self-identity with more general themes of desire, the body and the urban landscape.
His work tends to involve an integral emphasis on the relationship between the audience and the artwork, the viewer and the viewed, and an exploration of the implicit drama within relationships, whether familial, professional, romantic, sexual or social, and how desire, sexuality, socio-political and cultural constructs, as well as psychological states such as depression impact on them. One particular preoccupation is with the lapses and voids inherent in the process of translating between verbal language and nonverbal modes of communication. It is in the discrepancy between words and any other language, say, images, emotions, bodily movements or sounds, that his art is located.

Peake also DJs under a pseudonym and runs a record label called Hymn. Eddie Peake was born in London in 1981 where he continues to live and work. His exhibitions and performances have been staged internationally.
The Pervert is een nieuw bedachte voorstelling, gemaakt tijdens repetities met een ensemble cast. Het bevat lagen van looping gechoreografeerde motieven - sonisch en gedanst - die elkaar opzettelijk in de war brengen en spasmodisch synchroniseren.
Het zal de vorm aannemen van een niet-lineair verhaal met een groep goudgeschilderde naakte dansers en een live verteller die het personage “Eddie Peake” speelt. Dit personage stapt in en uit het drama en lijkt het te regisseren, zich ermee te bemoeien, het te vertellen en het passief te observeren. De kunstenaar Eddie Peake zal ook verschijnen in het werk, als DJ van een live soundscape die zowel reageert op het werk als het orkestreert.

Eddie Peake werkt met performance, video, fotografie, schilderkunst, beeldhouwkunst, geluid en installatie. Zijn kunst neemt vaak de vorm aan van meeslepende tentoonstellingen die uiteenlopende en ongerijmde objecten met elkaar verbinden, autobiografische elementen en een onderzoek naar zelfidentiteit verweven met meer algemene thema's als verlangen, het lichaam en het stedelijke landschap.
In zijn werk ligt de nadruk op de relatie tussen het publiek en het kunstwerk, de kijker en het bekekene, en op het onderzoeken van het impliciete drama binnen relaties, of die nu familiair, professioneel, romantisch, seksueel of sociaal zijn, en hoe verlangen, seksualiteit, sociaal-politieke en culturele constructies en psychologische toestanden zoals depressie hierop van invloed zijn. Een bijzondere interesse gaat uit naar de hiaten en leemtes die inherent zijn aan het vertaalproces tussen verbale taal en non-verbale communicatievormen. Het is in de discrepantie tussen woorden en elke andere taal, bijvoorbeeld beelden, emoties, lichaamsbewegingen of geluiden, dat zijn kunst zich bevindt.

Peake is ook DJ onder een pseudoniem en heeft een platenlabel genaamd Hymn. Eddie Peake werd in 1981 geboren in Londen, waar hij nog steeds woont en werkt. Zijn tentoonstellingen en performances zijn internationaal te zien geweest.

Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
