Queers across the globe are seeking places to just be and thrive, but everywhere it seems there is a compromise to make or a big fee to pay. Queereeoké have been on various stages across the continent and beyond for over a decade and they not only know how to turn a party, they also have a good recipe for a life changing experience too. Pick your song, come on stage and let the Hamburg-Berlin based collective give you a hand, a leg, a mouth and a whole number to boost your confidence on stage. Jazzy Jes, Bixa Pretta, Scout Wölfli, Margarita von Sekt, Merl and Danny Banany will guide you through your moment and make sure you forget about the threats of everyday cis-het normativity. Queereeoké will fill your heart with joy, conviviality, empathy, star quality and love for you to take home and thrive off in your daily life once you're back home. Queereeoké is an organically grown and transformed community collective from Hamburg and Berlin, focusing their work on community-driven dynamics, queer empowerment, and vulnerability.

The initial desire was to offer a club space practice that went beyond consumerist interests and allowed for proactive engagement and co-curation of the evening, including free expression and mutual encouragement for impromptu performing and singing. The collective works through the means of karaoke, spontaneous choreography, improvised performance, queer banter, and sassy moderation.

The key idea was to build a community around supportive energy and the celebration of difference and diversity. In 2021, the collective developed a workshop format to give the community a softer onboarding to the show, working on vulnerability as an asset, addressing stage fright, and accessing joy. The workshop became a tool for the collective to check in with the community about their needs, so that the show can become even more inclusive.
